So, I am probably over-thinking this (what? I never do that...)
So I got an interview at Wright State in OH for my psyd in about a month (yay! happy dance) this is the school I want to go to since DH could be stationed there, like yesterday.
We have a couple we were very friendly with at out last base who are currently stationed there. I am wondering about asking to stay with them instead of getting a hotel. My only reservation is that they have a baby (about 10 months), I will be getting in fairly late (plane lands at like 9) I will be renting a car. My interview is from 8-5, and I have to go to the airport directly after because I have an interview in DC the following day.
So, I'm hesitant because it would really just be like over night, and I dont want to disturb the baby by coming in so late... ? And it seems really like I'm using them for a place to stay - which I suppose I am.
FTR we have a good relationship with the couple, as in, their septic system went out and we let them use our showers and washer/dryer, stuff like that. So, we have done bigger favors for them. Also, DH said he thinks they would be upset if I didnt see them while in town.
What say you MN? Would it be too much of an inconvenience to ask or should I ask and give them the opportunity to say no? (especially interested in those who have had babies, since I think that is my main concern, but other non-baby opinions welcomed, too)
Re: input please
This is a brilliant idea. This way if they don't offer you didn't have to directly ask and feel like you offended anyone.
This is what I would do.
