I seriously almost just....
cut the tip of my thumb off
Just wanted to share. It hurts so bad. I may or may not be heading to urgent care tonight. It's weird- it started in the middle of my thumb nail and down toward the tip. 
I don't think they'd be able to do anything or need to do anything, we'll see.

I did that a few months ago. I sliced my thumb long-ways (hotdog, not hamburger), and the only thing that stopped the knife from going further was the top of my fingernail. So happy I had longish nails or the cut would have been even deeper. They couldn't put stitches in because it was gosuch a small area, but used those sticky suture stitches instead. They also cleansed it really well and gave me a tetanus shot.
If you can, I'd got to urgent care. Better safe than sorry! Hope you're feeling better soon!

My thumb is still healing from a cut I did when shaving a few weeks ago, went about
halfway down the nail.
