Military Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Re: Did Blueshirt's Post Get DD?
The bump emailed me an apology and deleted it.
" As you know, we deeply value our community of members, and so it?s very important to us that you feel safe on our message boards, in the galleries and all of the other community sections of the site. These are open forums, so we look to our members to help us maintain the spirit of community ? thank you for taking the time to do it in this case. We?ve posted a general message explaining the situation (and have removed your specific post so as not to call more attention to the photos themselves)."
They also said they're working with law enforcement to get the owner of the photos prosecuted.
So does their post...I don't know...this whole thing was handled so poorly.
I got the email too, presumably for responding to blueshirt's OP. Their email said they're working with law enforcement and hope whoever is responsible is punished to the fullest extent of the law. Could be lip service, but they did the right thing by deleting, not for their sponsors, but for the child victims.
ETA: I hadn't read their sticky post. The email is pretty much that same thing. Considering how long it takes the nest to respond to most issues, I'd consider this a rapid response. They were just the middle man, from what it sounds like. I did not click on any links so as to not direct traffic to the explicit content, so I could be wrong.
How should it of been handled?
That's my biggest issue with TN/TB as a whole...there's no one available around the clock. Those pictures were available for 12 hours (at least)...if they had had someone looking through the feedback email address or the moderator board this would have been caught before I went to bed last night.
I wouldn't be shocked if they started reviewing user uploaded content before it's made available to the whole website and maybe added a night/weekend crew.
