Me & DH so ungamerish
To be fair, DH can play a mean game of Mortal Combat.
We got the kids Kinect and Xbox360 for Christmas and we just allowed the to get Xbox Live for the trial period. Dh is off today and he sat down to play for a few mintues when he comes into my office whispering.
"I think they can hear me talk. I know I can hear some guy through the Kinect talking to me."
We then did a whole, "OMG can he see us?" exchange.
Re: Me & DH so ungamerish
lol.
How old are your kids?
16, 12 & 8. The 16 year old is the one who plays it. The 12 y/o tires of it quickly and DD is the 8 y/o who is not allowed/has zero interest anyway.
It's weird!
I always find it strange when H is playing and I can hear people talking through the TV, even though he is wearing a headset.
Tell your H that you can mute people, which means that you can choose who does and does not hear you when you talk. Really you are muting yourself to them.
Is that as simple as turning the sound off? He said he did that just now and turned it off. Is there another function you have to do?
Clearly, I'm a book nerd but not a gaming geek... lol
No. You do it on the screen. I don't actually play, but I'll ask H and get back to you.
There's also a mute switch on the actual headset that you can turn on if you want no one to hear you. It's right where you plug it in to the controller.
H uses the first option when he is playing with friends and he wants to talk to them, but not to everyone on the game.
eta- we don't have a kinect, just an xbox. Can people hear you without a headset?
Yeah. They probably are watching you. lol.
