TIP BOOK CLUB!!! FRIDAY!!!

Hey guys. We're going to discuss My Antonia on Friday. Unlike fast reader imoan, I haven't finished the book, but so far I LOVE it.

So I wanted to do a quick poll about what times would work on Friday. We were planning to link to an off-site chat board (w/o a password or anything) so our discussion would be quicker.

I'm thinking either Friday afternoon or early evening? What say you, TIP readers?

Re: TIP BOOK CLUB!!! FRIDAY!!!

  • Because I'm mountain time and I think the rest of the nest is eastern time I think early evening would work the best for me.
  • 8pm EST.

  • Can we stick to EST to eliminate confusion as we discuss?

What time do people get off of work? Or can you do it at work?

I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns
  • I'm working from home Friday so I'm flexible. 8pm EST also works for me, so if there are people who can't do it from work I'm fine with a post-dinner TIPBC.
  • 8:00 EST works for me.
  • How long is the book? Mine is in transit from the library and should be here today or tomorrow. I doubt I'll be able to get through it tomorrow night unless it's a quick read? HALP.
  • Ugh! Sounds so awesome, Im jealous.

After you all do your chat, would someone mind letting me know your thoughts on the book?

I'm Nook obsessed, and read alot...

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)

I'm not sure how long it is, but I sat down and read for maybe 1.5-2 hours last night and got 25% through. If you're a quick reader I bet you can have it done by Friday!

ETA: Or download it for free on your computer and start now, and finish when you get the library copy!

  • 8:00 EST is fine with me. I may get interrupted since H works till 10 and I'll be with Toddler Malibu alone, but I can hopefully get to the chat with my phone.
    Oh, FFS.
  • My Antonia is not long at all.  And it's an easy read.  You'll be fine.

Currently Reading: Don Quixote by Miguel De Cervantes
  • We may be at the movies then but I'll join if we're not.  Is there a link for where we'll be discussing?
