Vacation recs from Pittsburgh?

We are having trouble finding a vacation spot this year so I was hoping you guys could help. We usually go to the Caribbean but looking to not fly this year. We'll be going the first week of August and have a 15 month old. Looking for something more laid back than myrtle, can't find anything small enough at the outer banks because it's just the 3 of us.  We would like a house by a lake maybe, or a laid back beach  A pool is high on our list so the baby can go in. I've heard good things about Bar Harbor but were open to any suggestions.  Price range can go up to 2,500.  Thanks

  • also from the Burgh... we do a family trip to Ocean City MD every year, but Rehobeth Beach, DE is much more laid back.  On the same vein, Cape May, OCNJ, Hilton Head.

Deep Creek Lake is amazing -- been going there since I was a baby. And I think it's only a few hours from PGH.
