Has anyone been to Eureka Springs, AR?
My mom and I are visiting my grandparents in Arkansas at the end of March, and we're going to spend two days in Eureka Springs on our own as well. Have you ever been there? If so, do you have any recommendations for restaurants or fun activities? I have the New Orleans Hotel & Spa booked, but can change it with no penalties if there are better places to stay.
Re: Has anyone been to Eureka Springs, AR?
My heart is as open as the sky.
Read about it on the blog
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
H and I went there and stayed at the Crescent Hotel. Very nice hotel--old, but unique. Did not use their spa, but heard great things about it. www.crescent-hotel.com.
Very cute town! I would love to go back and explore it more sometime.

We were there in October and had a great time! We stayed at the Crescent and did the ghost tour. The guide was really into it and put on a good show. DH and I love to see the "World's Largest..." so we went to Christ of the Ozarks (huge statue!) and the wind chimes. We also went to Turpentine Creek which is a large cat rescue. The have so many tigers, lions and even a bear (oh my). Feeding time is around 5 pm and I highly recommend sticking around for that.
If you are into religious stuff, there is a passion play that has great reviews. They also offer a walking bible tour, but we didn't do any of that. This is at the same place as the huge Christ statue.
We loved Bubba's BBQ! I wouldn't pay to eat at the Crescent, the prices were really high and the food was just ok. We had an included breakfast as part of our package.
A word of caution, do not rely on your GPS to get around. Ours sent us in the wrong direction so many times. I think it is because of the mountains. There is a visitor center that has free maps and the people are very friendly and helpful.
As PP said, the main street is really cute and has a lot of great shops.
Enjoy your trip!
Our trip in October sounds almost like Whitman_Poe's!!
We had such a great time!
I would highly recommend eating at Local Flavor (went for breakfast), Casa Colinas (mexican) and Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse. Literally, all 3 of these restaurants were fantastic. LOVED the food and service!
I would also recommend seeing the Thorncrown Chapel. We loved Turpentine Creek too!
