Re: Babies and bumps (to-be)

  • Nothing new to report. Still waiting for Gibson's appointment at the ADHD clinic. He's been pulling some pretty snotty teenager attitude with me lately so I can't wait for that to go away. Izaac is still full of beans and when he has tantrums they are more like what I get from Gibson, except Izaac doesn't tell me I'm a stupid mom like Gib does.  Gibson has a tooth coming in. I can't wait to see it when it grows in all the way. He looks so cute with missing teeth but I can't imagine how it will look when he has adult teeth.
  • This is my first bump day picture! It's totally crappy as I snapped it this morning on my old blackberry.

Honestly, I think I look fat, not pregnant, and it's depressing. I know this is the way things are supposed to be right now, but, bah. BAH HUMBUG. I'm wearing yoga pants to work for the first time EVER. Stretchy waistbands for me!

    image

  • Yay kaesha bump!  I felt like I just looked fat for a loonnnng time.  I'm still yet to receive a stranger comment.

    Here's my bump today.

    image

It's definitely getting bigger, and is actually starting to make my boobs appear smaller.  Woooo.

However, getting bigger also means getting more cramped.  Chewy has been dancing on my bladder all day today.

Downs: I'm starting to get a bit of minor swelling, mostly that I'm noticing in my hands (I've retired the wedding band, ::sad face:: but can still easily wear my engagement ring) and in a slight ring around the calf when I take my socks off at night.  I know I should be getting in some more exercise to help, so, my goal this week is to pick that back up again.  We bought an exercise bike, but are still waiting for it.

Ups: Last night while we were sitting watching TV a spot a little above my belly button got really hard.  I pushed on it, and well, it pushed back!  That's got to be one of the coolest things.

  • raynes!  Your belly is definitely balancing out your boobs.  You look great.

kaesha - you're adorable.  But I felt fat for such a long time so I understand.

Here is my workout edition bump today.  Right after I got off the treadmill.

    image

Woohoo, I managed to get in 4.5 miles of running and a half mile of walking.  I'm slower but still getting the job done.  Also, I had to jump off the treadmill a few times and hit the bathroom because of some runners trots (sorry TMI) but otherwise I'm happy to still be running.

Downs?  Honestly, things are still going pretty well.  My pelvis still constantly feels like it's being kicked from the outside but I'm so used to that at this point.  I am starting to feel like I'm running out of space.  Bending over is more difficult and I most definitely need to eat less food, more often which has been hard to get used to and adjust to.

Ups?  DH felt the baby for the first time.  It's never really worked out before because the kicks and punches are always so sporadic that when I finally asked him to try and feel, the baby stops.  Saturday morning I was lying in bed and felt some rhythmic type movements and realized this was likely hiccups.  I could feel it with my hand so I woke DH up to feel it and he could!  yay!  However, when I wake him up he's always out of it and thinks I'm in labour or that he has elbowed me in the face.

Next appointment is next Thursday and then I'm down to every other week.

  • Kaesha - I think you look great! You're adorable!

I'm on to cycle #10, boo. This past cycle is the first time I really got my hopes up so it was a huge let down when I started spotting over the weekend. I'll admit the tears were flying all weekend, I try not to get to upset and keep a positive attitude, especially when I think of everyone who has been trying/tried for a lot longer then I have been, but I still have my weak moments.

My plan for this cycle is to workout at least 5x/week, eat healthier, drink more water, stop drinking any caffeine, use OPK's and preseed, legs/butt elevated for 15-20 mins after ST, and continue taking PNV. Also I have been looking into Vitex, does anyone have any knowledge or experience with Vitex?

  • Love the bump pics lady. You guys look great!

Bailey - I have been there. It's ok to cry. It truly is a frustrating process, but I don't think that we realize it until we are actually trying. Hang in there. GL this cycle.

Christian - he's still talking up a storm. His newest thing is copying someone when they sneeze.  If someone sneezes he will say really low, "achoo." It's adorable.

Zach - we finally have a few words.  To anyone else it may not sound like words, but I have figured them out. He says thank you, and tree for the number three.  It brought tears to my eyes when I figured it out.  I'm finally feeling the "don't worry he will talk."  Yay.

Also they can count to 3, but repeating, however when you say 2, they automatically say 3 after without me having to do it.

They are growing up way to fast, however I am loving this age. They do the funniest things, and give real hugs and kisses now.

  • I love all the bumps!

Bailey - don't worry about those weak moments - I felt devastated during the early cycles, also thinking that I had no right to be upset. it's still a disappointment, whether you've been TTC for 3 months, 10 months, or 18 months. keep your head up!

we are 11 weeks this week, and I feel great. definitely still tired (and sleeping like a ROCK, which is amaze-balls), but the nausea has hit the road. we did our announcement photos last weekend, and while I don't have any baby-related ones to share, she did send me a sneak peek:

we have our NT scan next week, so I'm keeping fingers crossed that everything is A-okay with baby Q. we're excited to see shim again, and even more excited to finally announce our news.

    ETA: photo! stupid Google Chrome.

  • Cute bump pics! I can't wait to "meet" all these little ones.

Me and DH are still in the pre-TTC stage. I started prenatal vitamins a couple months ago and I've now been off birth control for my doctor's recommended 4-month period so we'll be starting to yoga with a purpose soon! hehe

I said that I wasn't going to start charting initially because one thing I didn't want is for TTC to feel like a chore, but I got curious about what my cycle would look like since the pill has dictated my period for years and gave in. I discovered from charting that my cycle is actually 38 days long without birth control. I thought maybe the first two months were longer just because my body was trying to regulate itself off the pill but four months of charting has shown it's consistent. This means I have fewer opportunities to get KU than girls with "normal" cycles so that makes me feel a little pressure about trying to "get it right" when I am ovulating :/

  • Mandee - That pic is amazing.

rxbeth - I'm so jealous you've been able to stay active throughout. Keep up the good work.

raynes and kaesha - Love the bumps!

Bailey - Try to keep your head up. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I've never heard of that last thing you mentioned, but the rest of your plan seems good.

Sorry if I missed anyone. I'm a bit hungover and tired all at the same time. I stayed up way too late catching up with friends and drinking in the process...on a Tuesday. Go figure.

Jackson is usually a bundle of joy, and daycare keeps telling me that he's a good thing to have around when the big kids are driving them crazy. I have to say, he's not always that way when I get him, though. Usually I get home and have so much to get done right away that he's screaming at me most of the night. I cherish our rocking and sleep routine just so I can catch a glimpse of his sweetness.

I may have snuck in last night just to see if he was awake so I could show him the big moon. He loved it.

He's totally sitting unassisted now, which is great since I can let him play with some toys while I run around and do chores for a few minutes. He's also more babbling and talkative, but still no words. I'm excited to hear his first one. No crawling still, but he gets up on all fours and wobbles a bit. It's coming soon I think. We're doing big boy foods now, and he chowed on some avocado the other night after he learned he needed to chew and not freak out. His 2 bottom teeth are in, so no more gummy grins, which is sorta sad. They do grow up really fast, but I think each stage is more interesting and fun.

Part of my funk is honestly the monotony of life right now. i find myself doing the same thing day after day. I like some change and spontaneity, and a baby doesn't allow for that so much.

    PIP for your enjoyment.

  • Wow, I've been away for awhile, just caught up on a bunch of posts...

FMO - glad to hear Myles is better after the ER visit and that he's growing/advancing so well for his age.

Sushi - you trip to the Maldives... amazing! So jealous!

Brangela - Congrats on (and welcome to) TEAM PINK!!!

Bailey - Hang in there... I definitely know how frustrating it can be, I don't know much about vitex, but would possibly suggest fertility acupuncture.  They would be able to get you set up with herbs too.

Mandee - such a pretty pic!

Not much going on here. I'm finally sleeping better than I was last month, but my rib is still hurting during the day so I try to walk around a lot at work just to get up from my chair. Other than that, nothing really "bad" or worth complaining about, to be honest I'm still thrilled in the morning when I wake up and can feel her moving.  I've really been enjoying the pregnancy more since we hit 20 wks, but I'm still so thankful to be here. Hitting V-Day last week was a big milestone in my head.

Nothing much coming up, have my GTT on Valentines Day (gettin' my sugar, ha!) and the planning for my shower is underway.  Also, been focusing most my energy on the nursery which helps keep me sane in a way.

Here is this week's (mondays) bump pic.  I'm really starting to feel huge, which is probably comical considering I have up to 15wks or so to go.  I guess being short/petite doesn't really give her much space to grow.

  • Raynes- The push and I'll push you back game is my favorite.

Friday I went into labor. Contractions, dialation, the whole 9 yards. But since I was only 35 weeks and my water wasn't breaking on its own, they gave me the shot to stop contractions and sent me home. That shot SUCKS. I came home and had contractions (just smaller ones) for a few more hours, slept like crap, and took a few days off work.

Nothing new to report since then, I have a Dr. appt next Monday the 13th, so I guess we will see what they say then. I'm glad the little guy decided to stay in, but I am so ready to not be pregnant. My hips hurt like nothing I've ever felt before.

I'm almost done with my nursery, finally, but since I went into labor, I haven't been allowed to work on it anymore since it's mostly big stuff left. So we both have Sunday off this week and are hoping to get it finished. I'll post pics if we do.

  • Ladies you all look great. I love all the bump pictures.

O's latest thing is clapping when we say yay. She also dances when she hears music which consists of jumping around and waving her arms.

Last week she started imitating DH and it was the funniest thing. He was telling me something and raised his arm and waved it around and then O started babbling and raised one arm and waved it around. We were cracking up. It is so fun to see all the different things she is learning right now.

Our hospital won't stop any labor after 35 weeks. We also have a really amazing NICU, so that might be why. I'm surprised they decided to stop yours, but every hospital is different. Hang in there!

  • You ladies are looking good.  Such cute bumps.

Kaesha, I'm right there with you with feeling fat and not yet pregnant.  It also doesn't help that I'm in the stage where some of my normal clothes fit and some don't, so each day is a bit of a struggle to figure out what to wear.

Aside from that, everything is going well.  We've started to do a bit of baby gear shopping, which has been fun, but also overwhelming.  I go back to the dr. next week for my 16 week visit.

  • I love checking in each week and seeing these bumps grow! Makes me miss being pregnant :)

I just posted on the other post that Noah got Baptized this past weekend, so that was fun. He was pretty well behaved.

He's still not crawling, but pulling himself up to things like the couch and in his crib. The doctor said he might just skip crawling and start walking. I think he's finally getting his first tooth - there's a hard bump on the bottom and he's been grumpy the past few days.

Here's a picture from today at baby play class!

  • Love the bump pics, everyone looks so cute!  And Mandee, I LOVE that photo, I can't wait to see more!

Chicha, take care of yourself and I hope the LO stays a few more weeks, gets strong and then we get to meet him!

Nothing new to report since my a/s post, just happy to be pregnant!

  • Hi Ladies,

I have nothing really new to report. Myles loves to pull up, sit up, and giggle. I posted a video of his newest cuteness on fb.

Downs: Doesn't relate to Myles, but our embyros. We decided to let them defrost. It was really hard for me because it's like for sure we're never having biological children. Saying it and adopting is one thing, but having the possibility taken away completely really sucked.

  • Ladies with bumps, you look great! I'm especially impressed by the ladies who are still staying active.

Bailey, I'm sorry this cycle didn't work out for you :(

    MO - hugs...

Ups: I love that he's sitting on his own, it makes play time much more interesting. We've also installed a new carseat which I'm sure he finds much more comfy, though I'm kind of sad that his infant seat didn't last through the winter (since it's so much easier to get him in and out of the house in it).

Downs: Teething, I think. Darian's been extra fussy lately and not sleeping very well. And separation anxiety, pouting/crying every time I put him down. Babies... it's just phase after phase after phase.

snoopy, I hear ya on not being able to break out of the routine. We're considering going on vacation but just the thought of the logistics has me breaking out in hives.

kats, starsailorr (and others with older babes), I love reading your updates to see what I have to look forward to :)

  • Not much to report here. I'm finally feeling better mostly and have started exercising again. I am still not allowed to run, but I have been walking outside or on the treadmill. I'm aiming for 10-12 miles a week...and am going to try prenatal yoga this weekend.
I am telling my principal tomorrow, so I hope it goes well. He is a nice guy, but super awkward and doesn't always take announcements well (not because he isn't happy for the person, just because he starts panicking about logistics). I have a plan though that I'm hoping he'll go for. We'll see...

  • Hi ladies.

I love seeing all the bumps and updates!

We are doing great. G is growing like a weed, I swear he changes daily. Sleeping has drastically improved. Hoping it stays that way for awhile. He loves rolling and when I lay him down he is on the move. He is so much fun right now. His 4 month appt is next week so looking forward to seeing his stats!

  • All the bumps are adorable! Mandee, I can't wait to see more pics. Bailey, hang in there girly!

Hayden will be 6 weeks this Friday, where does the time go?! I go back to work Monday and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Any advice from you ladies that have gone through this? I'm really going to miss spending so much time with her.

She is down to one feeding in the middle of the night around 4 so I hope that we can at least stay with that. I'm sure I'll be a tired mama come next week til I get used to my work schedule again.

She is staying awake more now and just "chatting" away. It's fun to see her little personality start to come out.

I just posted her newborn pics on FB. I think I'm friends with pretty much everyone here. I have to go to school right now but I'll try to post some of them on here tonight when I get home.

  • To the preggers- you ladies look Great! I love the bumps!

Mandee, I love the pic, cant wait to see more!

    Bailey and MO, hugs!

Makenna is just starting to get over a cold and is also teething. The past week has been awful. She is so dramatic (definitely gets that from DH's side ;o) and so there were constant breakdowns over any and everything. Our dog ran across the room, there was a "Eiko, nooooo" crying breakdown. She couldnt get her socks on the way she wanted, crying breakdown. I really felt bad for her being sick but the drama was a bit draining. I think I might start looking around for a nice vacation spot for those teenage years.Stick out tongue

On a brighter note, she was much better today. Only a handful of breakdowns. She loves making us laugh, and is so good at it.  Her newest thing lately is saying "uhkayyyy" instead of yes when we ask her something and the way she says it is like you convinced her that's what she wanted. Its adorable.

Also...drum roll please... she has been going to bed for DH a few nights a week. May not sound like a big deal for some but for us, its a huge one. And a huge relief because that means I can get some gym time in. Also DH loves the bonding time during the bedtime routine, so its a win win.

Next weekend is her first full night sleepover. She is staying at my parents while we go to Atlantic City for DH's very late work Christmas party. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. Fingers crossed it goes well!
