WTH, I just saw a commercial
that says "Is your child a smoker between the ages of 12 & 19 and ready to quit?" What 12!?!?!?! Wow, I don't know what to say.
Re: WTH, I just saw a commercial
What did administration say? And would that not fall under child endangerment? I can't imagine giving my DD a pack of cigs and sending her off to school. Don't forget to walk off campus so you don't violate the rules!
IDK, I guess I'm a one minded parent. My DD will not smoke/drink under my roof with me knowing it until she is a legal adult! And, if I catch her, it will not be pretty! She knows this!
WHAT?!?! Unbelievable!
My two best friends started smoking at 12. One might've been younger, i'm not sure. She was a smoker when I met her in 8th grade. One of them quit smoking while she was pregnant (not in high school, just to clarify), but still smokes today otherwise The other used to go outside between every single period to smoke, and it only got worse as she got older. When she came here to visit a few years ago, we stayed at the beach, and I couldn't believe how disgusting she sounded in the morning. So gross. In high school, I used to tell them I needed to make some non-smoking friends so I would have some friends when I get old. I said it as a joke, but I'm pretty sure it was true.
My baby brother was about the same age when he started, too. Though I didn't know it at the time. All of them hid it from their parents. My baby brother finally quit for good, I think. There's a reason cigarette companies target kids. My parents weren't exactly present, and I don't think they knew about my brother. I think they were so convinced it was me, they never thought it was him.
I would never allow my child to smoke or drink with my permission under my roof, but I wonder if I knew that she did, if I might try to help her quit at a young age. :shudder: I can't think about thost kinds of topics yet. I'm not ready. There's a reason cigarette companies go after kids -- they are stupid, easy targets that have no concept of their own mortality.
I'll never let anyone smoke in my house, I don't care how old you are. That shitz is disgusting.
My silly Lily is almost 4.
