If you have been to the atlantis in bahamas, wdyt?
We are considering booking a family vaction to the atlantis in may, they have an wesome package where if you stay for 5 nights, you get the fourth night free plus you get $250 off of airfare, we will be traveling with our 2 year old and 8 year old and my brother and sister in law, they have two kids around the same age. I am thinking about booking in the reef or royal tower, what is your views on the atlantis, are there lots of things to do for kids and adults?
TIA
Re: If you have been to the atlantis in bahamas, wdyt?
the kids will have an absoulte blast. I've taken my 10 YO niece there and she was heartbroken when we had to get back to the cruise ship. I was exhausted at the end of the day - we were on the watersides for about 5 hours and never sat down!
The property is huge (think Vegas huge) and everything is very expensive. i.e. - no water fountains, and a bottle of water is $6. I think you can have a nice family vacation there if you know going into that you are going to spend a ton of money and it is PACKED with people.
Hi:
We were there with a 14 month old about 2 years ago. We were there in November and it was too cold for the beach but we spent a lot of time in the pools. They have a little kids waterpark and slides which was a lot of fun. The aquariums are spectacular and they have a ton of kids activities.
It is VERY EXPENSIVE! Makes Disney look cheap. Think $10.00 for a sandwich size baggie of grapes, $6.00 bottles of water. The waterslides are really awesome for adults and for an adventuresome 8 year-old. We plan on going back when our boys are both old enough to ride the water slides. I had read bad reviews about the service. Everyone we met was really nice and attentive. The carpet of the rooms, however, was filthy. I couldn't believe how gross- black- our little boy's feet were after walking around the room and playing. Overall it was a really great trip, but be prepared to spend a LOT of money.
