Re: Thankful Thursday

  • I'm thankful that Nestie Meghann and I both decided to go to the gym last night at the same time, so we were able to lift weights together! I probably wouldn't have done as much lifting if she hadn't been around.

I'm thankful that it's Thursday, so the weekend is only a couple days away!

(Don't tell my husband this one!) I'm thankful my husband is going to Delaware with some friends on Saturday and staying overnight, so I get a whole afternoon/night to myself. I'm going to cook, clean, order pho, and watch Mad Men and other shows he doesn't watch. I can't wait!
    • I'm thankful for heat and a roof over my head.
    • I'm thankful we got the house we wanted for a great price.
    • I'm thankful my FIL is a contractor and has helped us so much on our renovations.
    • I'm thankful that we're nearing the end of renovations and that we will hopefully be able to move in soon.
    • I'm thankful I bought out the store's inventory of gingerbread latte creamer during the holidays so that I still have four bottles left.
  • I'm thankful Faith only woke up once last night.

I'm also thankful for my marriage. We were going through a rough patch and I'm happy to say things are back to good.

  • I'm thankful for a patient and understanding husband. Pregnancy has turned me into a nutcase of epic proportions. I'm moody and short-tempered, I cry over everything, I'm weepy and needy. I feel completely unstable and anxiety-ridden. And he's taking it all in stride.

I'm thankful for videos sent to me by my sister this morning, featuring my nieces. In one they're teaching viewers how to make instant pudding, and in the other, how to steep tea. It's cute, it made me smile, and it made me want to spend time with my family.

I'm thankful DD's bedtime behavior last night was far less problematic than it has been of late.

  • I know I vented the other day that the hubs seemed a bit lackluster about our dating anniversary, but it got me thinking about all the great times we've had. I blogged about it and two of my friends have already gotten in touch with me that they can't believe it's only been ten years because it seems that the hubs and I have been together for ever.  It's like we grew up together and have known each other our whole lives.

So I'm really thankful that he puts up with my crazy.   I'm thankful I never had to do the real dating scene. I'm thankful I never had to go on a blind date. I'm thankful that I haven't had to worry if a guy would care about how bad my hair looks most days. I'm thankful I've got a partner in crime who's always got my back.

Haha how are you feeling? I'm not too sore so I guess we didn't work hard enough.

DH Is gone Tues - Sat this week. I'm  thankful that he spent all night Monday cooking food for me to eat this week.  He made broccoli/cheese soup, fresh pasta sauce, spicy tofu, and vegetarian chili.  I have variety and don't have to cook a thing!

I'm also thankful for my skinny caramel macchiato.

  • I'm thankful for Thursdays when it's DH's day to get DS up, fed, and off to daycare.

I'm thankful that it's Thursday because that means tomorrow is Friday, then weekend!

I'm thankful for gift cards which allow me to feel less guilty about a Target spree.

    I'm thankful for Amazon.

I'm thankful for my DH who doesn't get mad at me when I slack on laundry and he runs out of shirts or socks.

I'm thankful for my DS and his cute baby babble that we cannot decipher.

I'm thankful not to have to carry the infant carrier around anymore.

  • Today, besides the usual, I am thankful for a daycare center that I love and completely trust with the care of my children. I chatted with a friend yesterday who is worried sick about what her kids are doing all day and is going to get a nanny cam to spy on the sitter. Yes, I pay a lot for daycare but you can't really put a price on great care for your kids.

  • I'm thankful I get to work at home tomorrow and Monday.  Yay for the little things.

I'm thankful for my job. Seriously it drives me nuts because I get so bored at it and sometimes I think about jumping ship to private practice, but then I get home at 345 and take a nap and those thoughts fly out the window.

I'm thankful for my doggies. I love those buggers so much, even though one puked at 530 am this morning and the other puked at 530 am yesterday morning.  Jackson will not be left out!

I'm thankful for my husband. He's so cheesy and sappy and sweet and so good to me and makes me feel guilty bc he thinks I'm a much better person than I actually am lol.

I'm really thankful my brother and SIL are moving back to Maryland this spring.  I'm glad they moved away for a while, they both admit it was the best thing for their marriage, and I loved going out to visit them, but I'm really excited about having them closer for holidays and all the other good stuff.

i'm thankful my brother is dating a nice girl that he seems to like a lot and who seems to "get him." (and loves his dog, ha!)

  • I'm thankful for my friends who care about my daughter almost as much as I do.

(yesterday at our CFA girls night DD started choking on plegm and threw up a little - I had my hands full w/ a broken cup of ice and was sort for paralyzed and my gf (who's 7 months PG!) just jumped up and helped DD, cleaned up the mess, etc.)

I have been having a lot of sleeping problems lately and while I sort of hate our bed right now and think we'll probably have to buy a new one (which I totally LOATHE) I am glad we are able to buy one and hopefully fix this problem.

I'm not that sore either! But seriously, we were lifting heavy weights (you know, other than when armpit tattoo guy stole our 15-pounders) and we lifted for a long time.

I'm not sure soreness can be a measure for me...I did about 7 minutes of weights on monday and was sore for 2 days, and at least 30 minutes last night and am not sore at all!
  • I'm thankful for my savings account so that redoing a bathroom is redoable
  • I am thankful....

    - that DH's surgery went well and his recovery is right on track (even if he's gotten a little mope-y and bored)

    - for my puppy (my 80lb lap dog) - without him i don't think i would have gotten through these last few weeks

    - for my mom, she's been my rock through this whole thing and absolutely amazing

    - for my keurig, enough said

    - that my job is letting me work from home while DH recovers...i don't remember the last time i put real pants on.  i looooooove me some sweatpants.

    - for our niece. DH saw her for the first time post-surgery on sunday and it brought tears to my eyes.  she didn't want to leave his side and could tell something was different.  she just wanted to sit on his lap and give him hugs.  my sister was trying to get her coat on so they could leave and she just kept saying, 'no, ryyyaaaaann.'  i still get teary eyed thinking about.  it was so sweet.  i think that lifted his spirits too.

  • For my wonderful husband who seems to be taking care of DD more at night while I rest.

For my job and that I can take somewhat paid maternity leave.

For my family and friends to offering to watch DD when I need some me time.

  • I'm thankful for a wonderful DH.  We have surely had our major issues in the past, but I'm glad we have grown up and worked through them.  He is an awesome father and while still a man he is a wonderful husband.

I'm thankful for friends who love DD like their own.  Both sitters that she has had beyond my mom, have grown to lover her.  I don't think either anticipated to have the connections they have made with her and it seriously warms my heart to know she is loved so much beyond family.  The one sitter's husband is head over heals for my baby and it makes me smile to know she has extra "uncles/aunts" "grandfathers/grandmothers".

I'm thankful for my friends, family, job, roof over my head..the typical :)

I'm also thankful for my smart little girl that is growing up so fast.  She amazes me daily and just makes me so proud to be her mommy.

Im so glad! I've been thinking about you (in a non-stalker-ish kind of way of course).

I'm thankful that we are buying a washer and dryer this weekend, hopefully, because new appliances get me all kinds of jazzed up.

     And for tomorrow being Friday!

  • That I have a happy 11 month at home, my new iPhone from DH for Valentine's day, and we are going out on a date Sunday, and we haven't been out in ages.

    imageBaby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Whether it's a completely overwhelming day at work or a slow day, I'm thankful for my job.  I get to go home at the end of the day and can genuinely say that I enjoy what I do.

I'm thankful for my parents who are always there for me when I need them but are never nosy and ask questions.

I'm thankful for the validation I got last week from a friend of mine over some issues that I've struggled with since I got married.  This friend was one of my BFF's throughout HS and was a BM in my wedding.  I had major drama right after I got married with two of my other BFFs who were MOH/BM in my wedding and ended up losing their 2 friendships because of it.  To this day, I stress out over the way things went down.  My friend basically confirmed things for me that I needed to hear but that I never wanted to bring and ask about the situation up because I didn't want to make her uncomfortable asking her to talk about it (she's a very impartial, non-judgemental sweet person).

  • I'm thankful for having a job.  It isn't perfect but the people are really nice and going through layoffs hasn't been easy on anyone.

  • I'm thankful for a wonderful husband that has been by my side this past month. It's been a rollarcoaster for me and he has been amazing.  He's loves our little boy and is so happy.

I'm thankful for my handsome little boy.  It's been a huge joy!

Last, I'm thankful for a wonderful mom and MIL.... if it wasn't for them I'm sure I would have checked out a long time ago.

  • I meant to include this in my original post, but...

I'm thankful for people willing to play Scramble with me. I'm hopelessly addicted to the game and get all sad when everyone's busy with their lives and can't get to their turn (not that I don't understand, I just love playing so I get bummed). DH refuses to play, so I'm glad I have friends who are into the game.

Silly, but it's the little things :)

  • I'm thankful for a DH that is a partner in parenting, and who will rock Claire to sleep when she gets up in the middle of the night (after I feed her).

I'm thankful for the interest Aiden is showing in letters and learning to read.

I'm thankful that even at 3 a.m., Claire's got a sweet, happy disposition.  She is truly such a blessing.
