DH and I are on vacation in a week, and we want to do a quick night or 2 away for Valentine's Day. We would like a place that is relaxing, no cities please.
We went to a B&B last winter break and hated it. We want a place that is cozy without being creepy, if that makes sense. I will happily take suggestions, and if I am being too picky, tell me to stay home :-)

Re: VT/MA/NY getaway?
My vote is for a ski lodge with a hot tub.
I love it!
Of course I'm biased, but the area where we used to live, The Berkshires, is really beautiful in the winter. There's lots to do if there is snow (skiing at Butternut, snowshoeing, etc) and there are nice little villages with restaurants and shops and galleries, etc. It's an easy 80 minute drive from Saratoga and I'd recommend staying at this BEAUTIFUL old historic inn, The Red Lion Inn, in Stockbridge
Just my two cents
EDIT: Now that I re-read your post, I think you'd LOVE the Red Lion- it is quaint and cozy and adorable without being creepy. It's a sleepy little town also, so very relaxing! If you decide you're interested, just let me know and I can give you other recommendations
-Ummmm.... I have other options in the area but can't think of them and am going into a meeting- I'll think of a few and page you at some point today or tomorrow
