Anyone been to CO Springs?

DH and I are going for a long weekend in March to visit a friend.  Suggestions on what to do/see?  Keep in mind, I'm PG so no skiing or crazy activities.  I also assume that sitting in a hot spring is out of the question.  I know virtually nothing about the place other than my googling.  I'd like to take the train to the top of Pike's Peak (assuming the weather cooperates), but that's all I have so far.  We will have approx. 2.5 days there.

Thanks!

  • you can do garden of the gods too.  its a pretty spot.

i was at the olympic training ctr there for a bit and they do tours.  the facilities are cool and depnding on who is training while you are there you can watch practices and scrimmages.  i'm sure it will be busy leading up to the 2012 games.

the air force academy is out there too.  and it is only about an hour-90 min drive from denver.

i didn't get to do too much while i was there because of my time contraints but it is beautiful.  if you are connecting through denver expect a bumpy ride over the mountains.

ha, this was the one thing i found.  we will probably do this the day we arrive since my friend will be at work and we'll have the afternoon to spare.

we are connecting through chicago both ways.  i am very nervous about turbulence and m/s.  bumpy car rides send me over the edge these days.
