I just can't seem lose weight. I've been sticking to my calories that MFP recommended. I've been exercising (though I admit probably not as much as I need to be, but work's been insane lately. I know it's no excuse.). I've cut way back on soda. I only had 2 the entire week! My goal is to only drink it if I'm at a restaurant or friends house.
None of my clothes fit right and I hate to buy more that hopefully won't fit in the next few months. Tips? Tricks? Words of encouragment? Call me a fattie? lol

Keep going, don't give up! It takes the body a while to react to what you are changing in your routine, so often the weight loss isn't instant (besides losing instant water weight). I know it is frustrating, but I'm not sure what all you are doing diet-wise, cutting the sodas is helpful, for sure.
For me, I had little rules that helped, like not eating after 8 pm at all, drinking a lot of water (especially before my heavy meals), and having the higher-carb foods early in the day rather than later in the day (so your body has more time to burn it off). I'd have my pasta or breaded stuff for lunch, then lower carb dinners like salads and steamed chicken & veggies for dinner.
I am no expert, but those are a few things that helped me stay on track and get results.

Here's what helped me loose a few lbs:
-Eat dinner before 7:00 pm
-Grilled chicken practically every night. Mix it up with different marinades so you don't get bored. We found thin chicken breasts so instead of eating a huge breast every night, we actually have half, but trick our minds to think it's a full piece.
-Veggies every night. If we have salad, we use light dressings. Kraft has a light raspberry vinegarette that's like putting candy on your salad, but it's not bad for you!
-It sounds crazy, but use smaller plates when eating dinner. Somebody did research on it and it helps limit your portions.
-Keep a bottle of water with you all day. (I cheat and have soda for lunch)
-I don't eat healthy at lunch, but I eat small portions. Like ordering off the kids menu when possible. You usually get out cheaper that way too.
-When it's above 70 outside, we take fast-paced walks for 20-30 minutes and talk the whole time.
Don't get discouraged!
It's been months! I was doing well for awhile, but I think I've plateaud. (sp?)
Thanks for the tips Sapphire. We eat a lot of chicken because I'm not a huge fan of red meat lol. Luckily I love veggies, so salad is a staple in my fridge.
I need to drink more water. I actually just grabbed a bottle from the fridge
We took pics over the weekend at the Super Bowl party and I looked HUGE! Onward and upward I suppose.
I lost over 20lbs a few years ago after reading The Abs Diet by David Zinczenko. It's not some crazy fad diet, I promise, it truly was a lifestyle change for me. You don't have to eliminate any food whatsoever if you don't want to, that's what I liked about it. I want to be told what I can eat, not what I can't.
Anyway, I started eating 6 times a day instead of just the regular 3 and a snack. I ate 3 meals and 3 snacks. It was weird at first, I felt like I was eating all the time, but I got used to it. It helps me to eat that often, b/c then I never ever get ravenous, and when we're ravenous, we all know that's when we're more likely to scarf down something bad.
Anyway, the book really taught me how to read food labels and what good ingredients to look for, and what bad ones to try to avoid. It didn't include any calorie counting, but I did track mine on sparkpeople.com and I think it really helped. I worked out 5-6 days a week doing a mix of cardio and strength training. I was able to eat between 1700-1800 cals a day and lose, so I wish people would realize that you don't have to starve yourself in order to lose.
Anyway, the book even had lots of different recipes to try. I found it very helpful and it was an easy quick read.
