BWLO: Gripe Water

So my sister has a very fussy newborn, I bought her some gas drops when I was there but it didn't seem to work as well as they did for Elle.  She asked me about Gripe Water but I didn't use it and wonder if any of you had and what it did for your LO?

She is thinking she might be colicky--so any advice...

Re: BWLO: Gripe Water

  • Yes, I used it for Natalie and I loved it.  She would get uncontrollable hiccups and sometimes gassiness we couldn't relieve, and Gripe Water always did the trick.

  • We used it and it was great. Madeline also would get super gassy and hiccupy and it really helped. We gave it to her in one of these.

  • Ugh, Cullen was colicky and I had a really hard time admitting it also.  We never tried the Gripe water but used the gas drops and they eventually started working, but they definitely werent a fast fix.  Has she tried watching/reading "Happiest Baby on the Block?"  Those techniques helped us out a lot when we couldnt get Cullen to stop crying.  We also would take him outside in the fresh air and that would stop him most of the time. Unfortunately at this time of year that might not be so easy.  The worst part about colic was that nothing worked 100 percent of the time and you just had to keep pulling tricks out of you bag until something worked.  I feel so bad for your sister...it's really tough.  I have the movie and book of Happiest Baby that I would be willing to send off if she (or rockymtn) would like it.
