AW: First Appt. with Our Midwife

WAS AMAZING. Seriously, y'all, it was like a spa experience. Her office, which is in an old brick townhome in a historic part of Des Moines, is gorgeous and so welcoming. She had soft music playing and hot water ready for me so I could have tea --- tons of kinds to pick from. The "exam" room consisted of a big comfy couch with soft pillows and tapestries and a big comfy chair. Attached to the "exam" room was a beautiful playroom that Neena played in the entire time.

We were with her for 90 minutes discussing so many great things: diet, health, depression, exercise, meditation and relaxation, building a community. She was such a wealth of knowledge!

We listened to the baby's hearbeat (130's-140's -- so different from Neena). And scheduled our u/s for 18 weeks. I left feeling so satisfied and respected.
