Lille, France

I've found quite a good deal to get to Lille for a weekend (I live in London). Have you been? Do you think there's enough to do for a relaxing weekend? I don't necessarily need lots of things to do--but some good walks and generally a nice atmosphere is appreciated. Any specific recommendations for doing/eating/walking around near?

Re: Lille, France

  • I lived in Calais, which is not far from Lille and used to go there about once a month.  I would say there is enough to do for a weekend.  There is a Fine Arts Museum (I enjoyed that), Citadelle, La Piscine (a public pool, which was converted into an art museum....really neat, probably one of my favorite things in Lille!), in the city center there is lots of great architecture and shopping....def worth a weekend visit!

  • Thanks! I've booked our trip and am really looking forward to it. It's our first trip away in a year.
