Pacifier

At what age do you take the pacifier away?

Re: Pacifier

  • This artice says one year: http://www.babycenter.com/408_when-should-my-baby-stop-using-a-pacifier_1368496.bc

Although, I think that's a pretty debatable subject.  Kind of like co-sleeping, etc.

  • At 16 mo I made DS's magically disappear. I think this depends on the kid though.

  • We took M's away when she was around 18 months or so.

  • Ugh!  I don't want to think about that.  DD still takes hers every time she lays down.  She will be 13 months on the 12th.  Good luck!
  • JJ started getting his only at bedtime around 18-20 months. It took almost a year to break him completely [he'd have spells of wanting it and spells of not, and then I finally just took it away and let him cry it out for a couple of nights]. With our next baby, that will NOT happen.

  • DS1 stopped using it during the day around 12 months. He used it at night until he was almost 2.

  • Uhh. B is 26 months and still takes it. I have begun to take it away unless he is in bed, but this is really just an attempt to get him to stay in bed. You just have to get creative with distraction when they are asking for it/wanting it.

I guess mine is the oldest example!
