What will you do with your tax return??

For those who get money back, what do you plan to do with it??

I dream of the day where we can use the money for a vacation or something fun... but this year we are paying off DHs car and paying down one of our credit cards.  Paying off his car will free up $250 a month for us, which will help!

Re: What will you do with your tax return??

  • Needed house projects, car repairs and debt.
  • IF we get money back this year (come on, come on....) we thought about paying off a car but we pay 0% interest on them, and we'd earn interest putting it into our investment account.  So, boring, but that's probably what we'd do.  We might use some of it for our Ireland trip next month too (just for what isn't already included or paid for).
  • We're boring- ours is going towards paying debt too. Really excited to put a nice dent in it though :)
  • We haven't started our taxes yet, but I assume we will get some back since we have in years past and I made even less money last year thanks to my unpaid maternity leave.

I'm guessing this will go towards finally getting our front porch/balcony fixed.  The roof on the porch leaks and the railing is wobbly.  We hired someone back in October to fix it and made a down payment out of our savings, but they have yet to actually come out and do the work so we're asking for our money back.  (On my to do list today.)  Otherwise, we might use it for our vacation this summer.

  • All towards debt.. I'm really excited about that!

  • towards student loans, or towards replacing the carpet upstairs
  • We paid off 3 of our bills which is saving us $350 a month! =)

We are also using some for our spending money on our cruise next month.

  • We got enough to pay off our only credit card completely, and I'm very excited about that... so count me with the boring girls!  I did have enough left over after that to pay for Natalie's bedroom furniture, so I guess I did get something sort of fun out of it as well.

  • It depends on how much it is. Mostly will be for the basement finishing project. If there's enough, I would love to get new couches for the living room.

  • Spending money on our vacation/long awaited honeymoon.
  • We didn't get back nearly as much as last year because for some reason DH claimed 1 instead of 0.  I had planned on using our refund for another IVF but we're onlly getting back about $1k instead of the $5k we got last year.  If by some miracle this IVF works & we don't need to do it again it'll go in the house down payment fund.  We were almost ready to buy last year until we had to make an emergency trip to India.  I swear I can't win...

  • Some will go into savings for the girls and towards a Disney vacation. Some will go towards debt, a swingset for the girls, and maybe towards finishing our basement.

  • Paying off my credit card, paying hospital bills, and saving the rest for vacation.  Columbus (to meet the twinsies!) and maybe Cincy in April then hopefully somewhere else this summer.
  • Paying off debt and using some of the funds to help start up my daycare.
  • hopefully we get some this year, we paid last year.

I assume it will all/mostly go to the hospital bill.

  • We just discussed this last night. We will use half to pay off our credit cards and put the other half in savings. I'm using my bonus (which I get in April) to buy new bedroom furniture.
  • Home birth and amazing prental, postpartum, and baby care.

  • We assume we will get money this year, since I only worked 4 months, and had a baby. It will go towards our highest interest school loans......boring (but necessary)!
  • We pay.  I'm jealous of you guys!
  • Ugh. We are so bummed this year that we have to pay in $34. We were so close to a refund! Next year should be much better for us since I'll only be working 1 FT job, not 5 PT/short term jobs and we'll have the baby.

This is the first year we've ever had to pay in. Usually we take the money and either put it towards home improvement projects or vacation.
