Good morning

Good morning! Any plans for today?

QOTD: If where your family lives and job opportunities didn't play a role, where would you want to live permanently?

Re: Good morning

  • I've got to take DD to the doctor in a bit because of a minor skin rash she has that's not going away. Otherwise, no plans except for cleaning up the house.

QOTD: I love Germany's social system, so my tendency is to want to stay here. I also love the amazing public transportation, but the weather here is too cool in the summer and too warm in the winter for my tastes (I like my summers to be hot and winters cold). I think I would probably still choose Germany over the US, though, because of the social benefits.

  • Afternoon!  I golfed with some friends this morning and then came home and went for a swim.  I've got almost half the weight I put on over my six week binge leading up to the holidays off, so I'm now in super work out and eat well mode.

QOTD:  I'm definitely not ready to live in one place for the rest of my life, but I'd love to live in London.  I have zero desire to move back to the US permanently, but neither do I want to live here forever.

  • Today was tax and phone call day.  I've saved up all the necessary phone calls and have spent most of the day on hold.  Which has prompted me to theorize that on-hold music is annoying to make you hang up in frustration.  Tomorrow we have a wedding to attend; it will be my introduction to that side of DH's family.  I am excited about the wedding (and reception -- I hope there is good cake!), but nervous to meet his extended family.

QOTD:  My dream is to own an apartment on the World of Residensea, but realistically, I'd like to live close enough to my parents and brothers to re-instate our tradition of going out to dinner with everyone once a week.  I really miss that, and really enjoyed the time we spent together.

I don't mind being held to a higher standard; I mind being held to a lower one. (Sam Seaborn, The West Wing)

  • Good Morning!

No big plans here... need to get fuel for the house (so I'm here this morning waiting for delivery), get the car inspected, and do a bunch of errands.  Fun, fun :)!

QOTD:  Ok, so family and job are held in the balance, can I also hold expenses/cost of living aside?

If so, I'd go with London (for H) with a beach house somewhere fabulous (Seychelles, Maldives, Marquesas, heck I'd even take Key West, surprise me :))!

If money was still a factor, either back home (VA) or Spain (I veer toward northern, but like the warm temps in the south, so again, surprise me :)).

  • I'm heading out to a girl's night this evening which should be fun.

QOTD: Probably the caribbean somewhere. I'm not sure. I also wouldn't want to be anywhere permanently.

  • Morning! I?m headed out to the gyno in a bit for my annual check-up. Joy! And then it?s back to work on my translations.

QOTD: I really like living here in Germany, so I don?t know. It?s a little cold for my taste in the winter, but the summers have been getting better. Otherwise I suppose the NC mountains would be one of my first choices, or coastal Carolina, nice little town like South Port. But those are really more dreams for when I?m retired.

    "Cause life
  • Morning!

Cleaning today and will probably have to pick M up early from school as it looks like it will snow!

QOTD: I'm pretty happy here on the French Riviera, I'd love more money though so we can do all the things we want and to buy a villa. I'd want a place in Vietnam too for use from  November to March when it's cold here and a cottage in Muskoka near my parents cottage for the month of August when it is unbearably hot here and full of tourists. *dream*

  • Morning!  TGIF!  I'm tired, I had back to back partner dinners the last two nights.  I am so looking forward to a quiet evening tonight.

QOTD:  If money was also no objective, I'd prefer three homes i.e. London, somewhere warm with a beach and my hometown.  I just can't chose!

  • Morning!

I'm going to the gym today, cleaning, and I want to try out some new recipes today. I'm meeting friends later for drinks, I'm trying to cut back on drinking, so we'll so how this goes :D.

Azure, I would be happy in the French Riveria too :D

QOTD: I like Switzerland, but maybe not Neuch?tel. The town is cute, but it's small and a little boring. And it's a little cold. I'd like to live in a town on Lake Geneva, like Montreux or Vevey, Switzerland.

I call BS on Vevey being less boring than Neuchatel Wink

  • Not much going on here.

QOTD:  Also assuming $$ is set aside, Monaco.  It's right in the middle of everything, 20 minutes to Nice, 20 minutes to Sanremo a few hours to the Alps....

and 40 minutes from meeeeee!!!!! GTGs!

  • Evening! I had my third day back at work. My brain is catching up after being gone for 7 weeks. Unfortunately, there is a new supervisor and while smart on technical things are pretty lacking in the interpersonal department. As in I am actually counting down to not working with them. Has been really stressful as a nursing mom who needs to pump. But between the information from the HR dept and talking with my managers, the pumping situation should get better.

The rest of the day has been at home with the family. I'm making chicken in plum sauce with stir-fried chinese noodles and cabbage for dinner. Later DH and I have a date for a movie in. Rented Breaking Dawn, Part 1, and have chips and a black bean salsa for snacking on.

QOTD: Oh, I could probably live in the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Calistoga area of California quite happily. But the thought of being in one spot for ever is just not cemented in my mind. We like moving.
