Azure -- Tioman Island
I've got a friend coming in this month from the US and we're looking to spend a couple nights at a beach on the east coast. I remember you posting that you'd been. Would you recommend it? Where did you stay?

We loved Tioman. Great snorkeling, we did a fishing trip, a donkey ride through the jungle, monkeys are everywhere! If you play, there is golf too.
We stayed at the Berjaya Beach Resort it was nice, but a really big resort. We would have preferred to stay at Japamala Resort which is more our style, but they were fully booked. I think sushisamba stayed at Japamala if I remember correctly.
We went in 2006, so I would assume that some things have changed a bit and maybe there is more choice for resorts on the island. It was perfect for a beach holiday.
Perhentian looks amazing! I'm jealous!
We went to Tioman in August and the weather was amazing, not sure if that's usual though.
