Waterproofing a camera

I know that this has been posted here in the past but I'm unable to find the old post. I'm heading up to Parhentian Island in a couple weeks and I've been told that there are a ton of leatherback turtles around the reef and I'd love to be able to take a camera down.

Re: Waterproofing a camera

  • A British guy we met in Galapagos had one he picked up in the airport on his way over, he had no issues with it (snorkling only no diving). Can't help with the brand though sorry
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
  • I'm not sure if you were looking for a good underwater camera, but this was highly recommended to me. We are taking a cruise later this year and I plan on buying this to protect my Canon P&S.

fwiw, I did a lot of research on actual underwater camera, but reviews were really mixed and most said that while it was a goo underwater camera, it wasn't a great land camera.. thus, I decided to buy this for $20 and just keep my current camera (which I love).

  • I've got a DSLR and a point and shoot.  I'd rather not buy another camera.  I'd prefer to just buy something I can put my point and shoot in to use it underwater.
