A while ago I mentioned that I wanted to switch from OB's to midwives because the OB changed my EDD from one based on my ultrasound to one based on my LMP without any real reason.
Today we met with one of the midwives and I instantly felt much better about her. She seemed a little confused at the scribbles on the chart and I explained my thoughts to her and as soon as I said that I charted and calculated my ovulation date on my own she came right around, put a note in my chart and agreed that we could use the ultrasound date for everything.
Also, we've decided that it's more likely than not that we'll be moving before the baby is born so there will most likely be a baby's room for me to decorate (ha! like I have the ability to decorate). I love this rug and this painting, but I'm not sure how to base a room off of them.
Re: Success! (BR)
Yay for finding someone your comfortable with!
As far as where to go with your painting and the rug. I would do gray walls, and more modern furniture in white. Do pops of color in other things for the room that match the colors in the painting and the rug. Since the painting and rug are sort of busy I would do solids for the crib sheets and skirt and bumper if your doing one. You could do blue and purple and red or other colors too.
Thanks that's what I was thinking. I don't want to give anyone retina damage with color overload. I most likely will not paint the walls since I'd have to paint them back to white in less than a year. I'm also looking for alternatives to the rug since I have no intention of spending that kind of dough on an accent piece for a child's room.
I'm glad you found someone who is on the same page as you. It is so important to have someone you feel comfortable with throughout all this.
I agree with Afton re: solid bedding with such vibrant colors in the rug and artwork. Yay for getting to decorate a nursery! That was one of the things I was extremely excited about with this pregnancy, with DD we shared a room for the first 2 years of her life so I missed out on being able to do this. It is definitely a lot of fun!
