Project Runway *SPOILERS*

I am so surprised they sent Rami home.  I thought they would have sent Austin home instead.  Was anyone else surprised?

Re: Project Runway *SPOILERS*

  • I couldn't believe all the top guys (IMO) were in the bottom. I was very surprised they picked Rami. Austin's look was sooo old lady!

I also hate Jerrell now. His look last week was absurd and I didn't like this week either. Just his attitude about Micheal really soured me. Besides the color and the fact that they both did coats (hello, winter!) it didn't seem like an exact match to me.

With all that I think Kara should have gone home this week. Her look was fine, but I could buy something like that in Macy's - and matched the outfit myself. Nothing design worthy about it.

  • I was shocked too. I feel like the producers must have made a deal with Austin that he would be guaranteed to make it to a certain point in the competition.  I didn't like how they went up against each other to determine the bottom.  My bottom 4 would have been Austin, Kara, Jerrell and Michael.  I didn't think any of them met the challenge because none of them were creative!

Also- loved Cynthia Rowley as a guest judge- I hope she comes back again.

  • Definitely not my favorite episode. And not my favorite judging. I can't believe they sent home Rami. That shirt did make the model's boobs all kinds of wonky, but it still wasn't the worst thing on the runway. Austin's outfit was hideous imo, and I'm pretty over him. He can do gowns, but that's about it.

And they loved Kenley's adult size polka dot romper. WTF?  I really wish she had been assigned winter so she was forced to do something other than "precious" or maybe she actually would surprise me with a stylish, pastel, polka dot winter coat.

I watched the show last night at a local bar with Mondo and Jerell present. Mondo, who is from Denver, hosts it every week. It was pretty fun. He mostly just said that his judging was BRUTAL, there's extended footage at lifetime.com of how they just ripped him apart, and he was positive he was going home. That's why he was in tears.  And Jerell is pretty hot.

I agree with your bottom four, but Chris and Jerrell were against each other.  I think Kenley should have been the fourth.  That romper looked juvenile and the styling was worse since she just paired it with shoes and did minimal makeup with a ponytail.  I really don't like Kara's attitude or her design style.  She's still doing the same stuff from her original season and can't take criticism.  It's why she was failing as a designer before she came back for this show.

I also loved Cynthia Rowley as a judge and would love it if they move her to All Stars from 24 Hour Catwalk if that show doesn't work.  She's so much better than a lot of guest judges as well as the regulars and always has good feedback.

  • I was shocked. I would have actually put the bottom four in the top over the four "winners".

You know Mondo?? God, I am so jealous! I'm right over in NV and have an SIL in Denver.....

I love Mondo. I'll always love Mondo. I really hope he wins!

I was also surprised so many top people were in the bottom, and I couldn't believe Kenley's "romper" either! I can't believe they even justified that. What are you, in preschool?

I also thought the michael-jerell battle was absurd. They were both doing winter, they both did coats. Big frickin' deal.

  • I agree with all the previous posters. Most of the clothes were down right ugly. I wouldn't wear most of them if I were paid!  I hated the top that Rami sewed. It looked like he sewed it with twine.  It was Frankenstein ugly.  The coat was so pretty though.  I would have saved Rami and put Mila out.

  • You know, I feel like I have disagreed with the judges a lot this season. I usually agreed with Nina and the crew. I don't know, different tastes I guess. It probably doesn't help that I hate Isaac Mizrahi.

Totally agree, though I liked both winter looks. Loved the coats.

No, I don't know him. Haven't even met him. Just attended a viewing event he was hosting. A friend of mine knows him though...  I do think he's extremely talented and hope he wins this. I think I'd feel that way no matter what though. Breaks my heart when he cries on the show, lol.

  • I thought Kenley's romper was a complete cop-out.  Please don't try and push your designing to another level.  We really enjoy seeing the same retro, girly bullcrap each and every week.

I thought Rami's jacket was divine.  But that shirt was beyond bad, so I'm not really upset that he was the one sent home.

I'm so over Michael C I can't even stand it.

  • I was underwhelmed by Kenley's look as well. It was fine, but there was nothing spectacular about it. I would never wear it myself. That being said, I don't whose outfit I would have said was better. I didn't think that's Jerrell's coat = a winning design. Slim pickings this week for things that I felt were worthy of a win.

Austin totally made his model look 20 years older. She was a walking time warp to an 80's Stepford wife of Connecticut. I don't know what the judges were talking about; those pants were fug. I absolutely cannot get behind pleated-front, high-waisted, cropped anything. I would picture someone buying that outfit at Dress Barn.

There were many designers that I felt could have gotten sent home. Rami most certainly made a hideous top. I totally agree that it looked like Frankenstein's monster. The color wasn't that great. It also cut the model's bust in the most hideous way. It was seriously unflattering in almost every respect. I don't see fault in sending him home for it.

Interesting info about the extended review of Mondo's look. It was very Mondo, but I can't say I entirely disagree with the the judges critique that was aired. It was definitely a cornupia of things that probably would have been fine on their own, but put together just ended up looking like a mess.

Jerrell vs. Michael C.: maybe they should've been put in a UFC ring and we could see them really duke it out.  Now THAT would be entertaining.

  • Late to the party, but I agree Austin should have been sent home instead of Rami. Was also surprised that he, Mondo and Austin were in the bottom!

  • I agree, definitely Austin should've gone, out of him and Rami. I'm not much of an Austin fan in general though either.

I really would've had Kenley go home, I think the romper was a cop-out. I think it was cute, but nothing new or different. I'm getting really bored with her looks. I thought Kara's look was ok, nothing amazing either, but better than Kenley's. It was so weird that all the "top" people were on the bottom.
