need bday gift - stat! help!

uhhh..i just remembered that the bday party i'm going to tonight.... my friend buys h and i a gift for *every* birthday (seriously, i think we're getting too old for bday gifts...but oh well). but since she buys us something, we need to reciprocate....

she loves gourmet foods, so i was thinking about something from the oil and vinegar store, *but* that is in bellevue, and dinner is at 7 tonight, in seattle, so i don't really have time to go there. any other suggestions?

i'd like to stick to about $30, but $20-40, works, too.

You might stop by Wine Styles in Canyon Park (it's in the QFC shopping center, next to Extreme Pita). They carry a wonderful gourmet olive oil/vinegar line and they can put together gift sets for you. H and I are wine club members there and they usually have bread with the oil/vinegar out at wine club events and it's soooo good. I'm sure any foodie would appreciate it.

I could be wrong but I think there's an oil & vinegar store in Pike Place (not sure if downtown would be convenient for you?). Also there's a Fran's Chocolates in the base of the Four Seasons Seattle and if you've never tried those, they are *to-die-for* delicious. No one with taste buds could be disappointed with a box of their salted caramel truffles - I just don't think it's possible.

There is. It's near the original starbucks.

okay! if i don't like the place that MK suggested, i will stop by here! the dinner is in chinatown, i should've been more specific..so it's not seattle-seattle, and pike place isn't super-convenient. canyon park will be better for us!

i'm up for other suggestions, too, though! Smile

The oil and vinegar store in Pike is called Sotto Voce and is AWESOME. My friends got us two bottles from there as a wedding gift and it was such an awesome off-registry purchase! We have the Olio e Arancio which is delicious - olive oil infused with orange, pink peppercorns, and some assorted herbs (I think oregano, tarragon, garlic). We also have the Loganberry Balsamic and it's delicious! I highly recommend.
