So ladies, I'm late. My cycle is like clockwork 28 or 29 days. It never varies. My body has a compulsion to ovulate and I even had my period like a month after Janie arrived.
Anyway...it's CD 30 and nada. I POAS last night and it was negative. Given that, I was sure I'd have it today. Nope.
When I got a BFP with Jane we were trying and I POAS at 11 DPO and got a +. So, this should be like 16 DPO or so. Surely if I was pg I'd have gotten a +. Right?
The only thing I can think of is that for two weeks this cycle I changed my eating dramatically so maybe I O'd late? Thoughts? Theories?
Re: WWYD: POAS related
I'd wait a few more days, then test again.
Unless you have any internet cheapies lying around (like I do), then I'd probably pee on them twice a day lol.
According to TCOYF- once you ovulate, your period will come within your normal LP (12-14 days I think for most women), so it depends on when you changed your habits. If it was at the beginning of your cycle, it could have pushed back ovulation to make you late. If it was towards the end of your cycle and after you would have ovulated it probably didn't make a difference. It's been a while since I read it but I'm pretty sure that is how it works.
I would POAS again but I am compulsive about peeing on them. There is always a chance the test was faulty. If you get a second negative, I would wait it out for about a week. If AF still doesn't arrive I'd call my dr to see what they said.
PS- I'm guessing you aren't on birth control and thus have not made any changes in bc in the last couple months. If you have started, stopped, or changed bcs in the last few months that could definitely cause the problem.
ETA- andddd I just saw that you said it was pre-o, so please disregard paragraph 1.
My understanding is that yes, diet change can affect your cycle. Increase in exercise or physical activity can do it too.
Any significant amount of stress around 2 weeks ago that could have delayed your ovulation?
I can't lie, I was a little bit "squee!" about a possible bfp.
::checking calendar::
OK, so I started Medi fast on CD 11 so pre-ovulation. I stayed at that drastic eating for about 10 days or so. Then started eating more. So, yea Lisa, kinda goes with my theory that it may have pushed off O. and no, not on BCP, we use condoms. Sometimes. Eeeks. When I "know" we're in the safe zone we go without. So, CD 24 we went without. I would have had to O really really late to be pg from that - so I am thinking (hoping?!) we're in the clear.
Oh jeez! lol. We'll try soon enough - but I have vacations planned, yo! I was also hoping to at least get back to my same TTC Jane weight first.
I hope you get what ever it is you want though!!!
I'm always POAS. But then again, I'm trying, hoping, wanting.
If I were you, I would POAS every morning. Unless you don't like to waste money on HPT's like I do
The other ladies have said it all, but I just wanted to add that we thought I was pregnant a few months ago. I went 6 weeks without a period. I POAS every single day for 2 weeks! Then AF came.
I hope it turns out how you want it to!
