s/o Fundraisers in schools
We signed the kids up for catholic preschool. I did ask if there were a lot of mandatory fundraisers.
She said that they do alot of fundraisers but that the only mandatory one is the Shoprite Cards. She was explaining them but was talking a mile a minute.
From what I understand I have to buy a card from the school and they get a certain percentage of it?
Is that right?

Sounds like they have the Scrip program. I run it at my son's school. Its a great non fundraiser fundraiser.
You buy a Shoprite card for $25 and get a $25 card, the school gets $1.00 for each $25 card from the retailer.

yes I am head of fundraising in our public school we do a Giant Card, a Target card and Scripp program. All voluntary. Oh and box tops.
Reilly's Catholic school has TONS of fund raisers, some are fun like family dinner pasta night, the talent show etc.
when Kieran went to preschool, we were still required to raise a certain amount or buy out- none of the actual fundraisers were mandatory, but you had to do some or buy out-
we do shop rite and stop and shop and scripp- all you do it purchase the cards from them and they get money for it- but you get what you paid for-

We have mandatory fundraising or you have to give them a $500 a check. I wasn't planning on continuouing in catholic school but this makes me even more glad to be leaving. I feel like evrytim I turn around there is something else in his folder that needs cash.
