S/O French moms are awesomer than you
For those who were discussing the article on French parenting, I just wanted to let you know that I witnessed a lovely tantrum from a four year old (French child) at the grocery store. The poor mum looked like she was ready to pull out her own hair. Heck, I almost stuck out a foot to trip the little bugger when he was running past me. I REALLY had to fight it, he was sooo irritating. So anywho,I just wanted to reassure you that toddlers are occasionally little sh*ts in every country and that French mums aren't sitting in a veranda with a glass of red while their two year olds play mozart on the piano.

I saw a french toddler having a tantrum on the street the same day we discussed the article and though of it!
I discussed it with my french bff who has a son M's age. Her kid has tantrums all the time, still at 3.5 years old doesn't sleep through the night, doesn't eat well etc... But she also gave her baby what he needed when he needed it, not the typical "french" parenting style that the book describes.
I'll admit I haven't. I've just read the articles about it, which make me not want to read the whole book at all. I can't imagine her spinning something book-length about her claims. The whole thing just seems so bizarre.
Its a pet peeve of mine is all, when people say "that book is stupid" or whatever when they haven't read it. Half the reviews on amazon, btw, are "reviewing" the author's appearance on the Today Show. "She's wearing a weird hat, this book sucks!"
