I'm so tempted to bail early
I'm coming down with a cold and have that stuffy head, runny nose, overall "ugh" kind of feeling. I can power through to 5 o'clock if I have to, but really my work for the month is already done and I could just go home sick...
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

DH has that cold too. That stinks!
Would you have to use a whole sick day or can you take sick time as hours?
I don't know if they even really count sick days, but I definitely wouldn't be using more than 1/2 a day at this point. And, honestly, I don't think they'd count it all.
It's just my guilty conscience is all.

I don't think my boss even tracks sick time. But I just recently took my first sick day since 2008. No lie. Except when I was on maternity leave which doesn't count.
Because I was nearly dying recently. Dying. Like near death. I am never like that. I mean, I passed a kidney stone between MEETINGS one day. in a COMMUNAL bathroom, people.
I was dying. Dying.
I didn't end up leaving early, though I probably should have. There's always more work to do and I got caught up in something. But the stupid freaking bus was also way delayed so I got home 1/2 an hour later than I should have.
And then I slept until noon today because that's what happens whenever I get sick. Yes, all you mommies are allowed to hate me.
Oh, and apparently in my cold-induced delirium I sent an email out to about a dozen people asking if they're free for a meeting in JULY when I meant FEBRUARY. I have no idea what possessed me to do that, and I replied to like six emails this morning (*ahem*, afternoon) when I got up asking, "What? Did you mean February?"
