Things are getting real!

Ummm, we are moving to Germany. For real. ::gulp::

Our vehicle is at the port to be shipped. Our first (of three) shipments of household goods went yesterday. My parents, who were here to hang out and help, just left. We leave in a month. Yikes!!!

  • Holy crap...time is flying!!!  Good luck with all the last minute things you have to do...and try not to stress!  The pain of relocation will be over before you know it!

  • Ha! When DH and I were relocating, we had sold or shipped all of our things. So for 3 weeks we slept on a little futon mattress on the ground, ate meals at the counter, and watched tv on our computers on the floor!

Hope you won't have to do that for long! Good luck with it all!

  • For some reason I'm surprised that you shipped your car. Every time we move we tend to sell everything and buy new when we get there.

I hope everything goes smoothly for you guys during the move!

Chronically hilarious - you'll split your stitches!
I wrote a book! Bucket list CHECK!
  • Well wishes!!!

Military spouse here, and I totally get the frazzledness of the multiple shipments. The "please don't pack the wrong thing in the wrong shipment!" and the "am I forgetting something or taking too much?" Just take a deep breath; it will all be ok. There is support for you when you land in Germany.

We're about to do the return trip after back-to-back overseas tours. Crazy!

  • Yay! How exciting!
