Re: BR: arching back
Once they are strong enough to roll overs they are strong enough to move their heads and not suffocate....but if there are bumpers, pillows, stuffed animals, etc and they can only roll one way that could be dangerous bc even with good head control they could get stuck between a couple of things.
Don't worry!!!! If he rolls over...he will be fine...it is all part of the learning process. The pediatrician told us not to worry - the baby will put itself in a position that it will not suffocate. They know to turn their head.
He is going to be doing that tons in his sleep...it is a little "freaky"once he will know to roll both ways when you go in the crib and you layed him on his back and you find him on his tummy...it is all natural!
But I am with ali26, if you have bumpers, get rid of them. We didn't use bumpers until after she could roll both ways. She also never had things in her crib until after she could sleep with a blanket.
if he rolls, let him be if he stays content!
However, I will warn you... once babies are reaching a milestone, they practice it at night... over, and over, and over...
so if he's crying its because he wants you to flip him over. so he can do it again. and again... and again.
haha reaching milestones is exciting during the day and exhausting at night! LOL!
but... if he flips while sleeping, he's fine
THIS! When Harrison learned to sit up on his own and then pull himself up, putting him to bed at night became a challenge!! Haha.
