Caribbean Vacation

I'm trying to plan a vacation to somewhere in the Caribbean in Nov or Dec. I know it is far in advance, but I'm a planner.  We are looking for somewhere family friendly (we have a 2 year old who will be joing us). DH mentioned the USVI, but only because he has been there before on a work trip. I looked at some of the all-inclusive resorts, and that seems to be one of the more expensive islands so I'm not sold. For those who have been, where do you recommend?

do you want an all inclusive or no?

  • We love Aruba and so do our kids.  I am starting to get interested in Puerto Rico now too but have not been.

I was looking into St. John. I think I need to discuss more details with DH, sp we can narrow it down more.

  • St. John is lovely but I personally would not do a hotel there with children. There are many private villas to rent where you will have much more space as well as many with pools. Villas are also more budget friendly. Also, rates skyrocket at Christmas so as long as you travel prior to then you will find lower rates.
