Oven broke. What can I make on the stove for velentines?
This is the worst timing! What are nice options that I can do on the stove that are still celebratory? I also have a crock pot. I considered lamb shanks in the crock pot. Also, dessert ideas? Thanks!

Osso Buco
Braised Lamb Shanks (made this for V-Day a couple years ago, actually)
Thyme & Feta Lamb Chops
Lamb Chops Au Poivre (made this V-Day '07...and you can tell by the pic :P)
You could also do seared duck breast, seared scallops, etc.
For desserts you could do some sort of fried dough (donuts, zeppole, loukoumades, churros, etc.), homemade ice cream (sundaes), fudge, bananas foster, rice pudding, etc.

lobster risotto.....mmmmm.....
It's 100% your call, but it's usually fine. My OB said medium or medium rare was fine. It's ground meat that you need to order cooked pretty well, but with something like a steak, you just need to make sure the outside is cooked (there is a whole thing about this with info, but I am totally blanking on the reasons, lol.)
I was on a low carb diet my entire pregnancy, so I ate a lot of meat...I always ate steak medium rare, but burgers were medium well. It's okay to have!

I think this has to do with cutting? Something about the bacteria being on the surface and the knife dragging it through the meat?
My other suggestion was going to be lobster or crab, but if thine you've avoiding steak I think that it'll be a nice Valentine's Day treat for you to have a nice filet. And I definitely had my share of medium rare steaks during pregnancy
