Loestrin savings card?

I was reading a post from earlier after doing some Googling. Where do you get a savings card? Should I call my OB? When I was prescribed Loestrin back in April I was given 2 months free from the doc, but there was no mention of a savings card.

Even with insurance, I pay an arm and a leg for BCP every months so any type of savings would be great.

Re: Loestrin savings card?

  • I think when I was on Loestrin a few years ago my OB gave me a card like you're asking about. I think you'd have to get it from her.

Could you switch to generic brand to save money? I had to switch to it once that savings card ran out! (it was good for a year)

  • I forget if my OB gave the card to me along with 2 free months packs, or if I got it online.  It should make every prescription a flat $24.  Check out Loestrin's website.  But it should be $24 every month, regardless of insurance, etc.  Otherwise call your OB.

  • I'm on Loestrin 24Fe. Just got a new patient savings card mailed to me yesterday from my OB. Give your OB a call, they should have some or be able to get some.  With this card I get the prescription for $24 a month for 12 months or until Dec 31, 2012.  (It's possible to get a new card each year if they still have them- I had a card in 2010, then switched to generic, switched back at the end of 2011 and had a card for Nov/Dec that expired Dec 31, 2011 and just got the 2012 card).

It definitely makes the brand name more affordable for me, as the generic wasn't working as well for me.

  • You can get the card on our own. I think the number is:

    1-866-395-8367

Sorry about the font, its a c+p. I initially got mine from the doctor but the pharmacist gave me the phone number to get future cards. The cards are good for the year but you can always re-enroll.
