Surprise!

Hey Everyone!

We just found out Monday we are expecting #3! SURPRISE! Haha!  I just had #2 in September and we weren't even sure we were going to have more.  I guess we are now lol!  We have a lot of mixed emotions and are very nervous to have them so close to each other.  They are going to be 13 months apart (most likely to the day... I have a thing about being due the 8th and having my kids on the 3rd.)  We lost DD#1 to SIDS in 2010, and DD#2 is only 5 1/2 months old... Anyone else have LO's really close together?  Any advice?  THANK YOU!! :)

Re: Surprise!

  • Congrats!  Mine are 17 months apart.  The first few weeks are a breeze because your newborn just sleeps and eats and sleeps some more!  It's challenging but it's wonderful too.  Smile  Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!

  • Congrats!!!!   How are you feeling?  Any M/S yet?

My son is 2 today (yay!) and my daughter is 3.5 months old (born 11/3/11).  It is great- minus the sleep deprivation right now.  I love having them so close in age, and they already get along and interact with each other a bit.  DD is in awe of her big bro, and stares at him when he gets near her.  Couldn't be a better age span, for me.

Let us know how things go- what an exciting time for you!

  • Thanks!  DD#1 was born on 11/3/09!  I was due Nov. 8th with her, Sept 8th with DD#2 (she was born 9/3/11), and now I"m due Oct. 8th, so I'm hoping for 10/3 so I can say I have 9/3, 10/3, and 11/3 babies!  My b-day is 12/3 so we could have a party once a month lol! I'm just nervous because my husband works nights, so it's just me home with DD, and financially we were/are not ready for this.  I guess God has a better plan for us!  We'll make it work, it's just very overwhelming right now!

  • I've got you beat :)  Mine are 11 months 2 weeks apart!  I was just like you when I found out - shocked, scared, happy :)  I will say that it's challenging having them close together - as babies it was a different challenge in terms of work (feeding a newborn, entertaining the sibling...etc) and having 2 toddlers is a different kind of challenge!  But - it's rewarding and it's fun.   And you're right - God has a plan :)  Best of Luck!

  • I hope you don't think I'm a creeperSmile, but I recognize your DDs' names from a certain story I read about recently.  What an awesome thing to do in your DD's memory!  My two are 14 1/2 months apart, and while it is very challenging at times, it is so worth it!  I am not sure about advice...our DD pretty much ignored DS for the first four months or so.  We just made sure to pay tons of attention to her once the baby was here, and tried to disrupt her routine as little as possible.  She has transitioned pretty easily, despite DS being an extremely high-maintenance baby.

    Congrats!!!

  • Congrats on your little surprise! We are expecting our 3rd in October as well. Ours are 18 months apart and I think it's wonderful. They have so much fun together.

So sorry about the loss of your daughter. Wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months.

  • LOL! I don't think you are a creeper!  I have a lot of people come into my work and say they saw me on TV.  We try to do something every year in memory of Taryn.  My friend donated to Methodist as well in memory of her son.  We are hoping to do this fundraiser every year if possible! :)
