Leaving for Barcelona soon-ish
Tell me any last minute things I need to know, please!
I spent today packing . . . pretty sure I packed too much - lots of tanks/tees, cardis, and light sweaters. The weather forecast for the next 10 days says 50s during the day. Hopefully my clothes are appropriate (though, if not, I'm not opposed to a shopping trip!)
I just have to get through a few days of work and then we're off . . . I can't wait!
Re: Leaving for Barcelona soon-ish
Europe is really, really cold right now. I'm in Naples, which is almost the same latitude as Barca and I'm freezing my butt off (ie it is nowhere near cardi/tees weather). For real. It's cold.
Barcelona is typically slightly warmer than Naples (5-10 degrees), but really, I'd forget the tanks and short sleeve tees, it's not that warm. A couple long-sleeves and cardigans, ok, but the true summer stuff, not so much, IMO.
That said, even colder(ish), it's a great town, I'm sure you'll have fun. Do pack some warm(ish) stuff though. Not sure where you're from, but the best reference in the States that I know is probably the Carolinas.
The tanks/cardis are only for going out in the evening (we plan on going to some bars/clubs with our friends) - definitely not for daytime sightseeing (I've got long sleeves and sweaters packed for that, plus a jacket.) I'm from NY, so I'm prepared to deal with cooler weather (we went to Italy and Switzerland this time last year, but it was in the 30s/40s during the day then . . . the weather reports are saying Barca will be in the 50s during the day.)
Thanks for the tip, though! I now don't feel so bad about the two heavy sweaters and extra long sleeve shirts I threw in my bag "just in case".

I am in Barcelona now and it is cold. Day time is short sleeve sweater, jeans, boots, scarf, winter jacket. Tonight I wore boots, sweater stockings under black leggings, a short sleeve sweater, long sleeve light blazer jacket, scarf, and winter coat. I wish I had more cold weather clothing. Last night I wore a long sleeved black wool sweater dress. You definitely should bring some heavy layers. We've been walking everywhere so I think it's necessary just in case.
Thanks for letting me know! To be quite honest, unless I go shopping this week (which just isn't happening with my work schedule), my clothing options are not going to change so much. I live in NY (where it's a little colder than Barca right now) and I'm spending my days in jeans and sweaters, which is what I've got packed for the daytime in Barca (along with scarves and jackets.) I'm not worried about my daytime clothing. My night time options will be jeans and "going out" tops (which is pretty much what I'd wear here, too, for a night out.) I can always throw a sweater on top of my blouse/cardi and then take that off once we get where we're going (Obviously, I'll be wearing a jacket at night, too.)
Random question . . . we are going to Sunday's Barca game and my DH is wondering if they're selling sweatshirts around the city that we could wear to the game (we're bringing Under Armour gear to wear to the game, but would love to get some sweatshirts to wear on top of that/under our jackets.) Are you seeing any sweatshirts (particularly BFC sweatshirst) being sold?

We are in Eixample Esquerra. I'm excited to report back! I'm so excited! We've only got 5 full days there, but we plan to make the best of it (that's all our vacation schedule would afford us.)

All of the tourist shops will have some FC Barcelona gear. However, there is a Nike store on Passeig de Gracia (name of the street) that had Barclona t-shirts, track jackets, sweat shirts, etc.
