WTH, The Wedding Channel

I just got an e-mail

"It's been six months since your wedding... we'd like to introduce you to 'The Bump'"!

Good lord, I'm in no hurry! Don't you go rushing me, internet!

Re: WTH, The Wedding Channel

  • Hahaha! Clearly that website has employed your mother and MIL! Now get to humping...just joking!
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Dude, you're right. MIL clearly learned enough English to tell me to get grandkid makin'. I think she's been knitting baby sweaters since her kids turned 18!!!
  • lol yea I agree that's a lot of pressure really soon!
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • That happened to me too, but with a lot of things I didn't think of--like email credit card offers/store sales notices, i.e. before I got emails from the Gap, now I get emails from Baby Gap... (the weird thing is I didn't change my last name, so I'm not sure how they learned about my marital status)  Enjoy ignoring (or wandering around dreaming about someday)!
    Anniversary
  • Ya know, this didn't happen to me for whatever reason, but it would've been fitting in our case. I got KU 6.5 months after our wedding.
  • Yeah we all talked about that on my month board anthough sevral of the girls were pg at that point.

We are not ready yet.  My IL on the other hand asked at 6 WEEKS!

  • I went back to The Knot once after they made some kind of account updates, and it said something like, "Now that you're married, check out our sister site, The Nest!" ...Yeah, this was after the separation paperwork had been filed. Thanks, Knot/Nest.

FYI - The Nest sucks at divorce. Most people end up creating new single accounts, because you can't erase your wedding date or spouse's name. I changed my wedding date to the anniversary of the separation, and my spouse's name is "F***YouNest IEnjoyBeingSingle"

    FTW!

Aren't The Wedding Channel and The Knot competitors?  And The Knot is under the same company as The Bump.....so I'm confused.

They used to be competitors, but it seems The Knot bought them a while ago:

I don't think they started merging the sites until recently though.

PS - In looking for the above article, I stumbled onto a survey they did with Forbes to see how much brides leech off their work time and company resources! Haha! I always wondered about this since so many people were spending nearly all day on TK!
