Funny thing happened while house shopping

And no, I don't think we found the one yet  Sad  But, something cute happened.

We were coming out of the last house and I saw something on the edge of the porch.  At the angle (and with my tired eyes) it looked like a dead fish at first.  I got closer and realized it was a tiny little bird!!  He or she was alive, but not moving.  I thought maybe the bird was injured.  DH's cousin is a vet assistant and incurable animal lover, so DH picked up the bird and we planned to take it to his cousin.   Well, after picking it up, the bird appeared to NOT be injured. The bird just peacefully perched on DH's finger, not moving, just chilling.  So funny!  So, we assumed that it was a pet bird that got out, because we didn't think a wild bird would allow a person to hold it like that.  There was no bird cage in the house we just looked at, so we went to the neighbor's and asked and they didn't have a pet bird nor did they know of anyone who did.

At that point, we weren't sure what to do...well then the bird flew off.

We looked it up and now we're thinking maybe it was a wild bird.  It was just so funny...he sat on DH's hand for a solid 5 minutes!! I really wish I'd gotten a picture!

  • Your H is braver than I am-I am so afraid of birds.  I would've gotten scared if I saw one on the ground like that!  But glad it appears to have been okay and flew off on its own!
