do you think rash guard pants would be overkill for the summer? i like them because that is a ton of nice coverage but i don't know if the little guy will be sweating bullets.
Re: swim, rash guard
Gap has a rash guard hoodie right now.
These are full pants to the ankles it looks like? I assume it's thin but I thought Mayr not breathable? Since its not natural.
I imagine they are similar to the material they make for exercise...if so, breathable and great for wicking sweat so the body feels cooler. They dry a lot faster than cotton, too. Are you thinking of using it for just water activities or for general outside play (for the spf coverage)?
Water and biking. Biking he'll have a ton of sun.
I'm all about coverage in the summer. Last year we got a long-sleeved rash guard and capri-length pants (they came just below his knee), at Gymboree. I'd like to find something similar this year.
Jonathan Dean 4.5.08
Anna Capri 5.4.11
since ds will be mobile this summer we are planning on longer pants/shorts and long sleeves a lot for outdoors. boyfriend is pale like me so the sun will be his mortal enemy.
i really like iplay for rash guards and swimwear for him. it seems to fit well and he hasn't minded it for swimming lessons.
I don't think it's overkill. The sun is no joke.
I love One Step Aheads swim gear. We got Emma's long sleeve rash guard and hat from there last year. Great quality and they have all kinds of options. Doesn't look like they have their Sun Smarties out for this year yet, but an option to keep in mind.
I know bbb carries them we have store credit. Might wait to see what I can get
Thanks - will check it out!
I have a bunch of rash guard type clothes for the baby and I had them for Hunter growing up, too. I get them from Coolibar. Everything has UPF 50+ in it so they protect from the sun. They are meant for wearing in the sun and the heat so they also keep the kids cool. I highly recommend Coolibar.

Not at all! I prefer them for LO, actually. It's easier than reapplying sunscreen all the time. They are so lightweight and they breathe (made for the summer!)
We put a rash guard and cloth swim diapers on her, SPF on her face and legs and we're off!
