Apparently my name sucks...
I was bored lastnight on TB.
I asked for thoughts on the name Emily Heather on the Baby Names board.
Results = I'm overused, dated and boring.

I like the name Emily.
I don't think I'll be asking any opinions outside of DH when I have this responsibility.

I like the name Emily and I do not think it is overused - especially paired with Heather (I think Heather is moving into the less commonly used names). That board is only accepting of a handful of names paired with the middle name Grace. Unfortunately too many people have validated their list of acceptable names to get a true broad spectrum of opinions.
Connor's name was kept a secret (with the exception of the hospital staff) until about an hour after he was born as we didn't call anyone until then. Everyone else hated that we didn't tell them, but I didn't want their opinions and I didn't want anyone to influence or have a say in his name except Matt and me.
Ditto this... I think I shared that S was at the top of the list with Claire... but absolutely no one else. Not even our parents.
Anyway, I think they refer to "Heather" as dated... but it's pretty
. Emily is classic in my opinion.
CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
My sister and my MIL kept telling me how much they didn't like the name Levi. MIL kept suggesting names up until I was due. I just kept saying "That's a nice name, but we're sticking with Levi."
My original pick was Logan, but DH vetoed it.
I do like the name, it's a good classic name. I'm not the biggest fan of Jennifer but my dad named me and he loves the name so I've accepted it. Like Heather said it's a total 80's name and it was really popular.
JT and I leaning towards classic names because some of the names lately are sort of strange, not that any of you ladies are in that category.
