A friend from HS just announced...

She's having twins.  Surprise

It was a planned pregnancy, but she and her husband obviously weren't expecting this.  They already have one child and can barely handle or afford him, so I wish the best for them!  They seem happy though, which is good.

I've known a lot of people to be pregnant with twins in the last few years.  It kind of makes you want to double up on birth control, doesn't it?  lol

Re: A friend from HS just announced...

  • I've read several studies linking hormones that can be linked to consuming foods like sweet potatoes and such to having twins.

I avoided them for a few years just to be careful.

  • What?!  That's both interesting and frightening.  I'm glad I don't like sweet potatoes. :)

I googled for kicks and there are some crazy women out there who are on a sweet potato diet to increase their chances of having twins.

  • Don't eat sweet potatoes, because you will get pregnant (with twins) and die. Don't eat sweet potatoes and have sex in the missionary position, don't eat sweet potatoes and have sex standing up, just don't do it, okay?

;p lol sorry, couldn't resist a mean girls joke!

  • lol.  Why don't I remember that part?  I used to love that movie.  Which character was this?

  • The gym teacher says that in health class on the first day when she skips class. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpCvnBrjAhQ

  • Ok.  I remember it now.  LOL.  I was confused and thought you meant they really mentioned sweet potatoes.  Embarrassed

  • Speaking of twins..

My cousin isn't pregnant or TTC but she's convinced that out of anyone in the family, she's going to have twins because she was adopted and doesn't know if it runs in her family. Even though our other cousins are twins, so there's that...

  • Yikes!

  • Twins run in DH's family. His sister had twins the first time she got pregnant.

  • Twins run in both my mother and fathers side.  I have twin uncles on fathers side (amongst numerous sets of 2nd cousins) and 2nd cousins on mothers side.

Twins run in H's family as well.  He has twin aunts.

Ummmm, all the more reason not to get ktfu...  I can't even fathom what that would do to my body.

  • lol. Everyone, stay away from the sweet potatoes!

Said HS friend is adopted so she doesn't know if twins run in her bio family.

I hope everything goes ok since there seems to be more risk with twins, and I'm interested to see what she looks like with this pregnancy.  She's very cute and petite, and she didn't show much with her first.

  • I'm doomed, I love sweet potatoes!

I can't imagine having twins. I get overwhelmed watching my bff's older kids who are about a year apart.Having 2 of the same age would put me over the edge lol.

I do too, oh no! I fostered two puppies once, and it convinced me that if I had twins I would have to give one away. They were little enough that they had to be bottle fed and every time one would almost get the hang of the bottle, the other would start shrieking and distract the first one... Oh my god, I would lose my sh!t with two babies.
