Giverny from Paris - how much time?

We are going to add a day trip to Giverny to our upcoming April trip to Paris.  I know that the train ride is about 45 minutes each way, but how long should I allow for our visit there?  I am trying to figure out which train to take back.

Extra Information: I do like to take pictures, we will probably get lunch there and we might want to scope out the town a bit.

Re: Giverny from Paris - how much time?

  • When I visited Giverny a few years ago I think I spent about two hours touring the gardens. So if you want to eat lunch and check out the town I would add a bit more time. I have an entry in my travel blog below on my visit to Giverny.
  • The town doesn't have a lot to see, so you won't need hours there, unless you go to the art museum.  I usually factor in a half day to travel to/from Giverny, tour the house/gardens and have lunch.

  • I agree with the others about a few hours. I hope you love it as much as I did. It is was so beautiful and we got some amazing pics.
