I am currently 11 courses away from getting my A.A.S. in Business Management. Unfortunately, I didn't realize my degree plan requires 2 internships. I can't take them until Fall 2012 and Spring 2013. I will be done with the other 9 courses by Summer 1 or for sure Summer 2.
Job opportunities are hard to find right now and my other option is volunteering somewhere. Doing so, I will need to put my youngest in daycare and then get after school care along with finding a job that fits these hours and is also willing to sponsor my internship and fill out paperwork accordingly for my school. I really don't want to complete an internship (as you can gather).
I am 5 courses away from graduation and can graduate Spring 2012 (instead of Spring 2013) with an A.A. General Studies. My focus would have been Business Management and I have 43-46 credit hours of business courses currently.
My primary goal in life is to get my associates. My *maybe* second goal is get my bachelors.
Am I hurting myself by getting a General Studies if I want to get a bachelors at some point?
Re: college advice
I changed my name
Agreed.
Ditto all of this. I transferred schools after my first 2 years of college. I didn't get an Associate's because I just went straight to my Bachelor''s in my field (Phys Ed and Health). Even though I was going from one PE program to another, some of my degree courses didn't transfer, which put me in an extra semester. From my experience I would just go with the general studies and then do your Bachelor's if you choose in your specific field.
