Heard the news as it was breaking on Sat. I am usually not one of those that feel too strongly when an artist dies, this one was shocking and made me so sad.
She epitomized my childhood and I remember learning to LOVE to sing because of her. Hairbrush in hand, mirror in front of me... I still can't believe she is gone...

Same here. It's so unbelievably unfair for her daughter. I hope people take note of how tragically drugs take hold of once amazing talented people.
Same thoughts, as well.
Horrible situation. I hate it when we lose such amazing talent so early.

Yes it was! I got goosebumps when she was singing.
Jennifer Hudson did a great job, especially given the time constraint.
I look forward to a more productive tribute in the coming weeks as her impact on music was profound.
