Curiosity: job poll (clicky)

I was just curious how many people here are SAHers, freelancers, "traditional" workers, etc.  Does anyone have a SAHH/SAHD?[Poll]

Re: Curiosity: job poll (clicky)

  • I am a regular full time worker married to a HS teacher.   During summer breaks when he isn't teaching, it's kind of like having a SAHH.    He's actually quite handy around the house with the cooking and cleaning when he is home, too bad it is only limited to a couple of months a year, though.

  • I didn't vote because I don't think I fit in any of the categories.  I'm unemployed but it's not intentional.  There's nothing wrong with SAH, but I can't seem to call myself a SAHW because I'm not used to it, I don't plan to do it longterm, and I've been actively applying for jobs the entire time.  For the most part I enjoy working, so it's very frustrating!

  • There are also some full time students on here.  I personally work a part time job and a full time job.  There is no option for that either.
  • I answered full time. I'm a nanny 40 hours a week, but it sometimes feels like a SAHM. I'm also a full time student, so there's that...

*headdesk* My DH is a full time student, so you'd think I would have remember that one. Though I could've sworn I had an "other" option on there that TN must have eaten or something.

    ETA:  Added the "Other" option.

  • I said other. By traditional standards I would be considered part time as I only work 32 hours a week ( Mon-Thur). However, by our company standards I am considered full-time I have all my benefits. Health insurance, vacation, sick etc.

  • I am a teacher, so my contract hours are only 7/day.  I do work more than that, and I also work a different job over the summer.

  • I usually work FT. Currently I am unemployed for the first time in ages. So I'm kind of in limbo.
