I have been to all of the above (except NOLA - going next month) and would be happy to recommend places based on what you want to do while on vacay and what your budget is.
Just let me know more details (I asked them in the other post).
Also, note that every time I've priced out airfare to NOLA, it is crazy expensive for a domestic flight. DH and I paid $1,500 total for our airfare (for 2) from SFO to NOLA next month... I was pissed off because I said to DH, "That's what we're paying for two plane tickets to Hawaii *and* five night's hotel! This is ridiculous." (But he wants to go with his sister and BIL so we will go... and not go somewhere else...)
I've loved almost everywhere i've visited. I'd be happy to go back to NYC, Hawaii, Cape Cod or Boston. We rented a condo in Huntington Beach a few years ago, which was affordable and easy to plan for; lots of time spent at the beach (usually our trips involve hiking, etc. so there is more planning involved).
There are so many places other places i want to visit! The next place i want to go is the Everglades, but i'd want to go there around this time of year and it hasn't worked out yet. I'm also looking forward to visiting DC and spending my time in the Smithsonian.
