Admittedly, I know next to nothing about refrigerators. The one I currently have is what came with my house. The problem: The ice maker has recently started getting jammed up with ice. Like this huge glacier is forming and SO has to chip away at it so we can make room for more ice. And sometimes the glacier has gunk in it. We use a lot of ice and now it's becoming almost a nightly routine for him to chip away at this ice gunk so hopefully the motor doesn't get damaged or burn out. What in the heck could be causing all this ice build up?
On the plus side, since neither of us know much about fridges, SO has offered to buy us a new fridge since he's tired of dealing with the nightly glacier.
Re: Dumb refrigerator question
Could it just be the ice is running to much? Ours can get clogged into a glacier easily if we let it make ice all the time. We hardly use the ice, so we just flip the switch on our fridge not to make ice, until we are about all out. Also, could be too much water coming out and so overflowing the ice trays?
I don't have rec's on a fridge, we don't have a dream fridge, just a basic two door.
