Romantic Valentine's Day

This is a story poll. . .

When was your most memorable Valentine's Day in the romantic sense? What happened?

Re: Romantic Valentine's Day

  • My favorite was the year my H and I got engaged. We went over to Kaui for the weekend (closest "vacation" we could manage since we live on Oahu) and did nothing but relax, drink Mai Tais, and stuff our faces with crab legs. With our work schedules, we have not been able to go on a real vacation the whole time we've known each other- trips tend to either entail flying to the mainland to visit family, or trips with a purpose. It was so wonderful to not worry about anything aside from enjoying each other's company for a few days.
  • I bought him chocolate. He bought me jewelry and flowers. We exchanged cards. We went to dinner. We came home and drank wine, then we had sex.

Pretty standard stuff, same as every year. No rainbows, no glitter, no unicorns.

  • I had to work, my fiance isn't much of a cook so I figured I should stop by the market and get some things for dinner.  I came home, he was serving  the dinner candles were lit all around and he was playing all of my favorite country songs in the background. He gave me some flowers and a beautiful necklace. I was floored. Dinner was amazing he followed it up with a back rub a bit of wine and amazingly attentive and loving sex.  I couldn't have asked for more.  Ahhh memories
  • The Valentine's day that he proposed. We went to a wine and cheese thing at a local pottery painting (craft) place. Painted some cups. After that he took me to the park where we got busted for "parking" early in our dateing life. Then he got down on one knee and proposed. I thought it was sweet.

  • One year when we were dating, he played detective and tracked down my grandmother's long lost true love--and he reunited them on Valentine's Day :-)  It was so sweet to see them both so happy.  Much better than a dozen roses; I never will forget that!
