  That's odd, where are you trying to paste it? The "< >" should be the proper HTML code for what I *think* you are doing...trying to make your blog a hyperlink, right?

  Posts use a different type of code. [url*]linkyouwanthere[/url*] remove the stars.

   If you want to use regular HTML I think in some browsers you can just click the "HTML" button above.

  I can't use the html button because I'm on a Mac and I don't want to use the traditional * thing because I don't want a google search of my blog name to bring up this site.

  Try disabling Javascript before you post. On most browsers, that will let you type the HTML code directly into the Message box for your post. If you don't know how to disable Javascript for whatever browser you're using, just do a Google search for "disable javascript [browsername]".

  Oh, and for the link, if you want the link text to be something different like in your HTML code, you can still do it in the BB markup, like so:
  
  [*url="http://www.linktoyourblog.com"]blog[*/url]
  
  (Without the stars, of course!)
