Oh! And here's a puzzler

A few years ago I met a guy in a friend capacity. We were friends for a while, then the attraction we both had to each other sprung to life and got the best of us and we went into the gray zone of "what is this, a friendship, a relationship or a FWB?" Ended up that it totally wasn't the right time for us to date due to his life essentially falling apart, so HE put the kibosh on it. We meandered around with a FWB on and off for a while, and then cut that off and went back to friends only. Long story short, other than last drunken NYE a year ago, I haven't slept with him in about 2 years. I moved on from my feelings for him a long time ago because for a myriad of reasons, it was never gonna happen for us. We're still friends and hang out occasionally, tonight being one of those nights.

Well anyway, I just looked at FB, and about 5 minutes after he would have gotten home from my house, he posted a poster-thing that said, "Bro-tip #1415: Ladies, guys are sick of hearing you ask where all the "nice guys" are. They're in the friend zone, where you left them."

Coincidence, or passive agressiveness at its' best?

Re: Oh! And here's a puzzler

  • Was their a conversation about where all the nice guys are?

  • I wonder too if you said anything during the night about "the nice guys".

BUT - for the fact that HE called things off way back when, it's kind of weird that he'd be pissy about this.  Unless he became interested again but didnt' make that clear to you, and in turn somehow feels blown off by you?

If you did say anything like that, then I'd be tempted to confront him on it!  "Um dude - what did that comment mean? "

I'm wondering this too. Since you seem to be currently dating a good guy, I wouldn't think you would be complaining to him about the lack of them.

  • We were just talking about dating in general, and I was telling him about Stalker Guy and how I always manage to find drama.

And yeah, he's the one that didn't want to date me, and he had plenty of chances to change his mind before I gave up. So it's just weird.

  • It might be a coincidence, but probably not. I hate passive aggressiveness!

  • Hanging around with this guy after the history you described is probably sending him mixed messages.

  • I think it probably was a pointed comment, but unlikely to be pointed at you.
